We are currently seeking a Senior Surveyor at our Seabee operation.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Senior Surveyor will oversee and coordinate daily surveys of mine operations at the Seabee minesite.  In this role it is the Senior Surveyor’s responsibility to ensure that they are a role model for safety of oneself and others, and continues to look for and implement ways to improve safety of all aspects of mining.

The Senior Surveyor is responsible for the following:

  • ·     Ensuring that all Underground and Surface operations are surveyed in an efficient and timely manner, focusing on establishing priorities to maximize information and have minimal delay to mining operations.
  • ·    Update the mine planning database to ensure the recent surveys are correctly recorded for viewing and manipulation.
  • ·    Regularly issue progress prints with all hazards associated with development to Management and Operations.
  • ·    Complete stope reconciliations with a cavity monitoring surveys, forming a solid in the database for manipulation.
  • ·     Ensure there is a physically logged program of QA/QC for underground mine surveys.
  • ·     Actively participate in training of other technical services personnel to ensure their continued professional development.
  • ·     Make recommendations to improve efficiency and work methods.
  • ·    Maintain records and information systems and participate in their development.

 The work rotation will be two weeks in/two weeks out, working 11-hour shifts.  The Seabee operation is a fly-in camp with flights coming from La Ronge, Prince Albert, Flin Flon, Snow Lake and Saskatoon.
